Your words always inspire me and makes me want to push this 69 year old body every day and enjoy every minute of every day and take it all in living in the moment KEEP RUCKING AND WRITING AND INSPIRING.
What a wonderful post! Looking forward to more of your writing. It sounds like it was an amazing night and perfect tribute to Monster. ❤️Monster Forever! ❤️
Side note…I remember you built my first “good" skateboard back in the 80's at T&F's (I think that was the name) in Edison. Lots of years gone by amd we are still in the same community!
This is the best thing I’ve read in a long time. It’s been hard for me to find routines to supplement my skateboarding. The Rucking community seems positive and filled with athletes as conditions as seasoned skaters. I feel most at home with guys that do Iron Man runs. They respect the effort and actually listen when I talk about the toll on the body skating takes. The best advice on mobility has been from these types of people. Two months ago I dislocated my toe while skating. I almost threw away every board I had. Then my wife said, “You’re not quitting, here is a 4 day pass to Skate Camp at Woodward.” If it weren’t for you, Mike, I’d feel a lot lower. Thanks for the inspiration.
Beautiful words and pictures, Mike V. What more could anyone ask for?
An inspirational read for me that evoked heart squeezing memories and deep emotions of what truly matters. 🙏
Deathless prose, for sure. Well crafted, Mike and an incredible homage not only to Monster but to the culture he embodies.
